Occasionally we like to feature guest writers here on TheChicagoanMedia.org. Today we have Ryan Loveless from Digitalux, a digital marketing and SEO company located in New Jersey. Ryan was extremely helpful is taking our website from an idea to an actual site and we owe him and Digitalux a lot for that.
With over five years experience in digital marketing (which is pretty long considering that it is a relatively new field of marketing), the team over at Digitalux has worked with companies of all sizes to grow their online presence, bringing in tons of new leads.
I personally know Ryan and some of his coworkers and have constantly been impressed with how much they know when it comes to Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, and SEO. Today he is going to walk you through his favorite methods to generate leads for small businesses.
We hope you enjoy!
Prior to the internet, small businesses had a hard time marketing themselves. A lot of the marketing strategies that big companies used were very costly. Today that has changed. The internet has made it very easy for small businesses to keep up with large businesses and attract the same (or more) leads.
The first thing you will want to do as a business owner is invest in a website that makes it easy to update pages and blog. We almost exclusively work with WordPress. It’s a great platform that makes it super easy to start creating content (i.e. blogging).
The next step, after your site is created, is starting to blog. Why blog? Blogging is the best way for you to…
- Increase the amount of indexed pages you have (more pages = more views)
- Make a connection with readers (leading to higher lead gen)
- Position yourself as an authority in your industry.
When you blog, make sure to that your articles are informative and engaging. That means you want to offer a lot of value and then ask for something at the end. The “asking” part is called the call to action. This can be a contact button or even a number to call to set up an appointment.
Once you’ve begun blogging, you’ll have content to share on your social media profiles. Be sure to post these at optimal times. Use a resource such as Tweriod to find out when your Twitter followers are most active for the highest chance that they will engage with your tweet.
There you have it, a short and easy way to market your business utilizing some free resources.
